Sidhu awarded Fellowship of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC)

Tarlochan Sidhu, Professor and Chair, Department of Electrical and Computer and Hydro One Chair in Power Systems Engineering.

Tarlochan Sidhu, Professor and Chair, Department of Electrical and Computer, will be inducted as Fellow of EIC for his exceptional contributions to engineering in Canada. Sidhu will be presented with this award at the Institute’s Annual Awards Banquet in Ottawa on March 3, 2007.

The Council of the Institute has, since 1963, elected annually to the grade of Fellow a number of engineers in recognition of their excellence in engineering and their services to the profession and to society. In the early years, the new Fellows were members of the Institute. Now they are members of the Member Societies of the Institute.

In keeping with the federation concept of the EIC with its member societies, the senior awards of EIC are the highest distinctions made by the Institute and its member societies, and are awarded by the Institute’s Council to members of its technical societies.
