Charity on the Rocks Benefit Concert 2008

Students rocked out in support of the Western Chapter of Engineers Without Borders at what has become an annual event held by the Undergraduate Engineering Society.

Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Wave

This year's benefit concert was to raise money for the Western chapter of Engineers Without Borders to help support their overseas activities and promote awareness of sustainable development.

Approximately 200 people turned out to the concert to enjoy an evening of live rock music at the Wave in the UCC, raising between $1,500 and $2,000.

The entertainment consisted of four bands. Performing live were:

  • Paradox Theory (a local band with Western Engineering members)
  • Slag (a local band with Western Engineering members)
  • The Basis (from the GTA)
  • Bury the Bully (from the GTA)

This is the 5th year for the Charity on the Rocks concert, organized through the Undergraduate Engineering Society.
