    Dr. K.Y. Lo, Director Geotechnical Research Centre, Professor Emeritus will be an engineering medal recipient for the category "Research and Development" at the 2006 Ontario Professional Engineers Awards. (more)

  • Basic WHMIS training for Western Employees

    All Western employees (including grad students) must have WHMIS training. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring their employees complete the training. Occupational Health and Safety now offers two versions of WHMIS training for Western employees – Comprehensive and Basic. Both versions are available on-line through WebCT Vista at https://vista.uwo.ca (The University of Western Ontario section). (more)

  • New home for ICLR
    The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) has moved to 1491 Richmond St. The building is a two-storey white house behind Westminster College.

  • Western Engineering welcomes
    Western Engineering warmly welcomes Erin Chute to the position of Counselling Assistant in the Undergraduate Services Office. This is a position that was revamped when Margaret Mousseau retired in May.

  • Congratulations to Karen Murray
    The Undergraduate Services Office is proud to announce Karen Murray has been promoted to the position of Junior Academic Counsellor, effective August 1, 2006. Karen will continue in her responsibilities with CEAB; in addition she will be responsible for administrative support to first year courses and academic counselling for first year students.

  • Have you seen the Dean's Office photocopier?
    The Dean's Office photocopier, colour printer and water cooler have moved to SEB 2002. Some members of the External Services team have moved offices as well.

    Sue Chapman is now located in SEB 2079, beside Dr. Hesham El Naggar, Associate Dean Research & External Services. Sue's office will be used as the central reception area for people waiting to meet with Dr. El Naggar. If you wish to book an appointment with Dr. El Naggar, please contact Sue at 519.661.3102 or schapman@eng.uwo.ca.

    Diana Lee is now located in Sue's old office, SEB 2003B. Her phone number remains the same - ext. 88327.

    Rachelle Devereux is temporarily located in SEB 2080 while the front hallway is under construction. Once the front lobby renovations are complete, she will return to her office in Engineering Career Services, SEB 2085.
