Taryn Meyers and Tyler Rosen, both students in Western Engineering, have been in Ghana on summer community placement over the summer months, and are now nearing the end of their trip, which concludes on August 10.

Taryn and Tyler traveled to Ghana as part of their Civil Engineering and International Development program. This is the first year that the program has sent students overseas. The trip was designed to give them practical experience and the opportunity to use their specialized skills to assist local residents and other organizations with several development programs and initiatives that are ongoing in Ghana. The work has revolved around water management and other environmentally-oriented projects.

While Tyler and Taryn are there to share their own knowledge, there is no doubt that they have received as much as they have given. They have each been keeping a blog, and posting many stunning photos of their adventure.

Browse through the blogs and photos, and get a sense of the magnitude of Taryn and Tyler’s accomplishments. Congratulations on a job well done!
