All printing and copying is paid for through your PaperCut account. You can add funds to your PaperCut account using a credit card or pre-paid PaperCut card.
Pre-paid cards are available for purchase in $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 or $20.00 amounts at the Service Desk of most library locations.
You must have a minimum of 50¢ on your PaperCut account to print, copy, or scan.
PaperCut accepts Visa and MasterCard credit cards.
The minimum amount you add by credit card is $5.00.
Pre-paid PaperCut cards can be purchased with cash at most Western Libraries Service Desk locations. These cards are available in amounts of $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 and $20.00.
Pre-paid PaperCut cards can be purchased with debit at The D.B. Weldon Library and Allyn and Betty Taylor Library. These cards are available in amounts of $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 and $20.00.
Printing and Copying

- Scanning to email or USB device is free
- Microform (microfiche or microfilm) scanning to a USB device is free
- Microform scanning sent to a printer is the same cost as printing or copying.
Western Engineering will accept the following reasons for refunds:
- Streaked or faded toner
- Paper jams where printer doesn't automatically reprint the job
- Printer has to be powered down to fix an error and the print job does not print upon powering back up.
If you need a refund for your print, photocopy or scanned job please contact the ITG Helpdesk.
Refunds to your PaperCut account OR reprints will be provided at the discretion of staff.
Staff will not issue refunds for any unused balance on your PaperCut account, including when you leave Western and/or graduate. You are advised to only add the amount of funds to your PaperCut account you will need for your print, copy or scan jobs.
File Size Limits
PaperCut will not print file(s) that exceed a certain limit in total. It is suggested that you send files separately.
There is a 10 MB limit for scanning to email. It is suggested that you send files in separate emails to avoid exceeding this limit.
There is no limit to scanning to a USB.

How do I manage my PaperCut account? (all users)
You can add funds to your PaperCut account online with your Visa or MasterCard credit card. The minimum amount you add by credit card is $5.00.
You can purchase a pre-paid PaperCut card (available in $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 or $20.00 amounts) with cash at most locations, or with a debit card at The D. B. Weldon or Taylor Libraries.

- Log in to PaperCut
- Click "Add Credit"
- Select an "Amount to Add" from the drop down menu
- Click “Add Value.”
Enter your credit card information
Click "Process Transaction."
Purchase a pre-paid PaperCut card (available in $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 or $20.00 amounts) at most Services Desks with cash, or with a debit card at The D. B. Weldon or Taylor Libraries.
Click "Redeem Card".
Enter the card number, including the letter and hyphens, to add the pre-paid amount to your PaperCut account. To verify the amount was added to your balance click "Summary".
Once the pre-paid amount is added to your PaperCut balance the pre-paid card is no longer valid. Unused pre-paid PaperCut cards expire by the date specified on the card.
- Open your document
- PDF document: use the printer icon within the PDF to print
- Word document: File->Print
- Select printer: "SEB1010-2 PCL6 GPD" or "seb1010-colour".
Send documents as email attachments. There is a 10 MB file size limit. It is suggested that you send files in separate emails to avoid exceeding this limit.

This printing option allows you to upload documents from any browser or from your laptop.
Web print does not work for smart phones or other mobile devices.
There is a 25 MB file size limit. It is suggested that you send files in separate print jobs to avoid exceeding this limit.
Documents sent using Web Print are printed as is; print properties cannot be changed.
- Log in to your PaperCut account
- Click "Web Print"
- Click "Submit a Job".
Select a printer: "SEB1010-2 PCL6 GPD" for black & white, or "seb1010-colour" for colour.
Click "Print Options and Account Selections" to change the number of copies as required.
Click "Upload Documents".
Supported file types are displayed.
Drag one or more files, or click "Upload from Computer" to browse and select files to print.
Click "Upload & Complete" to send the document(s) to the printer.
Once the upload is successful the status will display "Held in queue". You can now proceed to a library print station.
From a Engineering computing lab PC
- Insert your USB device into the USB port, usually on the right side of the monitor stand
- Locate your file
- Send to the printer using Web Print, file - print, or email.
Visit SEB1010 to pick up your print job.
Scanning is FREE and is found in SEB1010.
