INSTRUCTIONS FOR M.Eng. APPLICANTS

For MORE INFORMATION on M.Eng. program click here.

You need to meet the following criteria in order to be considered for the admission to the M.Eng. program. Each application is considered on a case-by-case basis:

Admissions average is 70% as by UWO standards (based on the last two years of an undergraduate degree) for both Canadian/Permanent Residents and International students.

The ECE Department offers packages of courses that will allow the M.Eng. students to focus their program in any of the following four streams (please check for specific course requirements for the desired stream):

Communications Systems and Data Networking

Power Systems Engineering

Robotics and Control

Software Engineering

Engineering in Medicine

New: Mandatory M.Eng. Courses* (offered in Summer Grad Term only)
two out of four courses required to fulfill M.Eng. course requirements effective January 1, 2010 (course outlines available soon)

Intellectual Property for Engineers
Risk Assessment and Management in Engineering Systems
Engineering Planning and Project Management

Engineering Communications

(* these courses may be taken by M.E.Sc. and Ph.D. students provided space is available (maximum enrollment is 50) but cannot be counted towards M.E.Sc. and Ph.D. degree requirements)

Acceptance to the M.Eng. program is competitive. Approximately 10 seats are available in each area.

The ECE Department will give special consideration to applicants sponsored by the industry.

It must be noted that, after successful completion of the program student will receive an M.Eng. degree (Master of Engineering) where specialization is not specified on the degree. The recommended package of courses is a suggestion to focus an M.Eng. program in one of the streams.

SPECIAL NOTE: No funding (including Teaching Assistantship Duties) is provided for M.Eng. students. M.Eng. program does not lead to the Ph.D. program.
