What is Summer Co-op

Summer Co-op is designed to assist students in finding quality paid engineering work placements. The duration of the co-op is four months - from May to August.

Why should you participate?

  • Earn a salary to help offset the cost of tuition.
  • Build a professional network with employers and engineers in your field.
  • Summer Co-op after your first or second year of your degree, may provide you with an opportunity to pursue a Long Term Co-op placement with the same employer between your second last and last year of studies.
  • Many employers view co-op work terms as an opportunity to assess candidates for future full-time positions after graduation.

Who can participate?

  • Be in good academic standing and maintain a minimum cumulative average of 60%.
  • No scholastic/academic offences.
  • Full-time undergraduate engineering students who are returning to Western Engineering (full-time) after their co-op.
  • *Students registered with Accessible Education are considered full-time if enrolled in 40% of a full-time course load. Please advise us by emailing wecareer@uwo.ca if you are registered with Accessible Education and have been approved for a reduced course load.

  • Annual application fee is $125 Dollars (payable when you apply).
  • Co-op Tuition is $550 Dollars.
