MESc Program
The MESc program is a thesis-based Master's research degree. This program is offered to applicants who hold a four-year Bachelors Degree. It is expected that graduate students will complete all program requirements within two years. There is no minimum residency period.

  • MESc Advisory Committee
    MESc students must have an Advisory Committee:

  • The Advisory Committee should consist of two members of the Faculty of Graduate Studies: the student's Supervisor and one other member or two Co-Supervisors.
  • Both members of the Advisory Committee cannot be Emeritus or Casual Academic or Limited Duties professors.
  • The Advisory Committee should be selected by the Supervisor and approved by the Graduate Chair.
  • At the end of the first year, the Advisory Committee must meet with the student (individually or as a group)and submit a student progress report form . It is the responsibility of the Supervisor and student to submit the completed progress report form to the Graduate Assistant.
  • Scholarships
    Students are encouraged to apply to the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada's Postgraduate Scholarships (NSERC-PGS) and the Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS) in the Fall term.
