Biomedical Engineering (BME) is a program that promotes the cooperative involvement of clinical and basic researchers in allied disciplines such as biomaterials, biomechanics and imaging. Our program encourages multidisciplinary links between the Western Engineering, the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Robarts Research Institute, Lawson health Research Institute, and teaching hospitals at Western University.
Our objective is to produce highly trained, qualified biomedical engineering graduates who plan careers in research and development. We offer an accelerated master's program as well as programs at the master’s and doctoral level.
Western’s Biomedical Engineering graduate program is rooted in the many successful, collaborative, interdisciplinary teams currently engaged in biomedical engineering-related research at the University.
Our program spans departmental and institutional boundaries, bringing together diverse expertise to focus on common educational objectives and research problems.
