Mechanical Engineering - Weeks 1 & 3

This course is currently FULL. Please check out our other course selections for this 2014 summer season.

What is Mechanical Engineering?

Mechanical engineers are part of your everyday life, designing the spoon you used to eat your breakfast, the zipper on your jacket and the car, bike, or bus you took to school.  Virtually every object that you see around you has passed through the hands of a mechanical engineer. Ultimately, their role is take a product from an idea to the marketplace.

What will I do at WESA if I choose Mechanical Engineering?

Students will get to work in a team to design, build and test a machine to perform a task, and compete with other teams to see whose machine is best! They will also learn how engineers apply their knowledge of mathematics and engineering science to systematically design useful machines, devices and systems to benefit society.

When is this course offered?

Mechanical Engineering is available the weeks of July 21-25 & August 11-15.
